Cortina Productions

In November, 2009, Kristen joined Cortina Productions to be a member of a multimedia development team focused on bringing interactive storytelling to museums through the use of touchscreen technology… and hopefully in the future, more! Since joining Cortina, Kristen has contributed to the following exhibits:

USA Today

Kristen took a full-time position as a Web Designer Developer at USA Today in February, 2008. While at USA Today she contributed to the development of a large number of news interactives. As part of a very talented team, she was able to create USA Today’s first database-driven interactive, which led to the development of many additional projects. She was also able to lead the development of a series of templates and components to enable designers to create interactives more easily. Here are a few of the projects she worked on:

Discovery Communications

Kristen was employed as a contract Flash Developer at Discovery Communications in Silver Spring, MD, for a short period of time in between jobs. While there, she worked with the Webworks team and helped develop several fun and ineresting experiences including (but not limited to):

  • Lemur Street Toolkit (in multiple languages)
  • Orangutan Island: Find your Inner Orangutan game

  • Animals save the planet

Newseum Exhibits

Kristen started her post-grad years as an intern with the Newseum and returned a short time later as a full-time member of the design/development team.
